Lake Naivashu

After leaving Lake Nakuru, we headed farther south to Lake Naivashu. This was the place where Joy Adamson, author of Born Free, lived in the mid 1960's. Lake Naivashu is a freshwater lake in the Rift Valley. We stopped here on our way to Masai Mara.

Lake Nakuru

After spending a couple days in northern Kenya, we headed southwest to Lake Nakuru National Park. The weather was cool and mild, making for a wonderful day of animal watching. It was the first time in Africa where we were a little chilly.

Our luck just got better!

We got to see a leopard in the process of a hunt. Unfortunately, once the leopard went in for the kill, the camera clicks distracted the leopard and allowed for the gazelle to become aware of the danger.
